The International Health Visiting Service was founded by Karen Antrobus. Karen is a UK trained paediatric Nurse and qualified Health Visitor with over 10 years of experience working with children of all ages. As a Health Visitor, Karen now focuses on children under the age of 5 years old. Karen has helped thousands of new and existing parents to achieve their goals of becoming confident parents who go on to raise happy, healthy babies that become well rounded, school ready children.
Karen’s aim is for the International Health Visiting Service to help to reduce the stress, depression and anxiety levels that some parents are experiencing, and to offer a service that takes an interest in developing a relationship with parents and children in order to progress the relationships within the family, and encourage positive parenting, positive mental health habits, and hopefully a reduction in cases of insecure or disorganised attachment that can lead to developmental delay or mental health issues for children in later life.
The International Health Visiting Service provides an online resource that supports parents to become confident in their own abilities to give their child the best start in life, by giving parents the knowledge and skills to be able to utilise play to enhance their child’s development, attachment and bond with their parent.
In addition to the online learning modules, there is online support from a qualified Health Visitor where parents can ask questions when they arise whatever time of day, through Mighty Networks, an online network where parents who are all in a similar stage of life can learn from each others experiences, questions, and support one another, and where questions are answered by a Health Visitor multiple times daily.
Parents can also utilise live weekly question and answer sessions with a Health Visitor to discuss any difficulties they are having implementing the programme, and get additional, in depth, personalised, professional support and guidance.
IntHVS Health Visitors are committed to remaining up to date on the latest evidence related to children aged 0-5. All Health Visitors are DBS checked, have the relevant professional liability insurance, are registered with Community Practitioners and Health Visiting Association and the Institute of Health Visiting, are all on the NMC Register as a Health Visitor, and undertake Revalidation every three years.
